                                                                         2019 Master Alan Baggett

Greetings from the east. It is my honor to serve this great fraternity of friendship and brotherly love as the Master for 2019. I pray that all our brothers are doing well. I come to with a message that is heavy on my heart and one that I feel is vital to the growth and stability of our fraternity. We have all taken the same obligation in the presence of deity to show friendship and love to all. We took this obligation before the Holy Bible which clearly imposes the commands that we walk in the way of God and be disciples to those who have not yet encountered his presence and love. Knowing this I challenge all who have taken this obligation to look at how we are living out our daily lives. Can others see that you are different? We all should be striving to be different from this world and its concerns and employments. We not only have the greatest working tools of all man, the Holy Bible, we have all the lessons and tools of Masonry to help make us become better men. My prayer for this year is that we all will look inside and use these tools for the more noble and glorious purpose of divesting our hearts and consciences of all the vices and superfluities of life, thereby fitting our minds as living stones for that spiritual building, for once we have divested our own hearts and filled them with the love of God our work as Masons will come naturally and others may see God though us. Finally, brethren I leave you with Matthew 28:18-20 that it may serve as encouragement and guidance.

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

And may the God of love and Peace delight to dwell with and bless you.

Alan Baggett
